    • "History of Long Island", 3rd Ed, 1962 reprint, p. 470: "Thomas Hicks, eldest son of Judge Hicks, married Deborah, daughter of Daniel Whitehead , one of the most extensive landowners of Jamaica and settled at Bayside, Flushing.... He had four sons and six daughters. He died in 1712 and his eldest son Thomas succeeded to the Bayside estate."
