  Mary Badie came over to this country some time between 1635 and 1638 either with her first husband, Jacob Verdon, or without him as his widow, which alternative is not positively determined. If she came without him, she was enciente with hers last child by him, her son Thomas Verdon, who is recorded as a native of New Netherland Maria Badie (Baddia) was the only known child of Thomas Badie and Aeltje Bracoine. She was married three times. Maria is visualized as a church woman endowed with glowing health and vibrant charm. She lived a very long life.
