  The Van Voorhees family Vol 1 The First Four Generations by Albert Stokes They lived at new Utrecht where he was a farmer. He owned several valuable properties. Rutgert was a deacon in the reformed Church at new Utrecht 1717-1723 and an elder fro m 1726 to 1729. He was Captain of Militia 1716 and Colonel in 1740.
