    • PLEASE READ THIS before doing any mergings of Mary Holmes. Robert Paddock was married to 3 different Marys: Mary Ball first, then Mary Holmes. After her death, he married Mary Trine.

Mary Trine arrived in Plymouth about 1630.

William Palmer Sr protected her, marrying her and she subsequently had a son, William. But it appears that she subsequently spent too much time with his son, William Palmer Jr who was about to be married, and she got pregnant once again. This child was given to the neighbors to raise, Robert & Mary (Holmes) Paddock.

After the death of William Palmer Sr, as Robert Paddock's wife had just died, he became the second husband of Mary Trine, and she became his third wife. There is some uncertainty about her maiden name, as it is not clearly documented. (There are no sources for the sown parents.) "Trine" means three or triple in old English, which could been indicative of her being Paddock's third wife.
