      == Biography =='''Ealdred Eadwulf of Northumbria''' 2nd Lord of Bambur g h w a s b o rn circa 860.Hudson, Benjamin, [http://www.oxforddnb.com/ v i e w / 10.1093/ref:odnb/9780198614128.001.0001/odnb-9780198614128-e-39225 ; j s e s sionid=6CD1E6947FA83547AA7EC8E024D84851 Ealdred (d. 933?)]
      Ealdred was a ruler of Bamburgh, at least part of the former kingdom of B e r n i c ia in northern Northumbria, in the early tenth century. He was the s o n o f E a d wulf.
      Ealdred was a witness to several of thelstan's charters issued in sout h e r n E n gland in 931 or 932, but he was not recorded thereafter so it is t o b e a s s u med that he died circa 933.Wikipedia contributors, "Ealdr ed I o f B a m b urgh," Wikipedia, The Free Encyclopedia, https://en.wikiped ia.or g/ w / i ndex.php?title=Ealdred_I_of_Bamburgh&oldid=1140080999 (access ed J u n e 9 , 2 023)

      === Research Notes ===:Ealdred may have been Eadwulf's oldest son and t h e o n e w h o succeeded his father upon his death in 913. Historian Benjam i n H u d s on, writing for the Oxford Dictionary of National Biography, spe c u l a t ed that Ealdred was "probably the father of Oswulf I of Bamburgh, w h o l a t e r ruled over southern Northumbria under King Eadred (d. 955)."
      :However, according to a twelfth-century pedigree, a genealogy in the t e x t D e N o rthumbria post Britannos recording the ancestry of Waltheof Ea r l o f N o r thampton (and, briefly, Northumbria), Oswulf's father was Eadw u l f I B a m burgh. This would make Ealdred and Oswulf brothers, rather tha n f a t h e r and son, the other siblings being Uhtred and Adulf McEtulfe.
      :[[Wikipedia: Osulf I of Bamburgh]] --Alleged son, "Osulf's origins ar e u n c l e ar. Some think he's son or a relative of Ealdred and his father E a d u l f . Others say he might be ''Osulf Dux'' who witnessed charters in t h e 9 3 0 s .
