Sarah Rapalje was born in Fort Orange NY June 9 1625.
In 1626, Peter Minuet tells Joris Rapalje and Catalina Trico to go to help settle Manhattan Island. It is right after he bought Manhattan Island. Joris Rapalje had a tavern near the fort .

Sarah Rapalje was the first white female child born in New Netherland. She was born in Albany on July 9, 1625, and died in New Amsterdam, then New York, in 1685. During her life time, she had two husbands and bore 15 children. Sarah’s parents were Joris Jansen Rapalje [1604-1662] and Catalyntje Trico [1605-1689]. Sarah’s parents had come over from Holland to New Netherland on the first ship to bring the first immigrants to New Netherland in 1624. The ship was the “Eendracht”, also known by its translated name of “Unity’ or “Concord”. The “Eendracht” had sailed from Amsterdam, Holland on January 25, 1624, arriving in New Netherland in March 1624. She was only 14 years old, in 1639, when she married Hans Hansen Bergen. Probably about a year after Sarah’s husband, Hans Hansen Bergen, passed away, Sarah married Teunis Gysbertsen Bogaert.

Sarah Rapelje (9 July 1625 - 1685) was the first European Christian female born in New Netherland.
Sarah Rapelje was the daughter of Joris Jansen Rapelje (1604-1663) and Catalina Trico (1605-1689), who were Walloon Calvinists who sailed on board the ship Eendracht from the Dutch Republic in 1624.
The Rapeljes arrived at a site along the Hudson River where they helped build one of the first Dutch settlements, Fort Orange, where Sarah Rapalje was born on July 9, 1625.
Sarah Rapelje married Hans Hansen Bergen in 1639 with whom she had eight children. Bergen died in 1653. In 1654 Rapelje married Teunis Gysbertse Bogaert with whom she had seven more children. Rapelje died in 1685 in Boswijck, a village that became the modern Bushwick neighborhood of Brooklyn.
- [S273] FamilySearch.org, FamilySearch FamilyTree, Virkus, Frederick A., "The Abridged Compendium of American Genealogy", Chicago: A. N. Marquis & Company, Publishers, 1925.*note: the Rapaljes are present in ALL of the 7 volumes.
The Rapaljes are listed in many of the biographies in these volumes, as they are intricately connected to pretty much every major early family in New Netherlands and later, in the US.
The previous editor listed these page numbers, however, they did not list the volumes these came from.
Pg. 296 says, lists Sarah as a child of Joris Janssen de Rapalye and Catalyntie Trico and says, "Sarah (1625-85), first white female b. in New Netherlands, m. 1639 Hans Hansen Bergen (d. 1653/4, native of Norway, came from Holland to New Amsterdam, 1633."
Reason:Pg. 489 says, "Isbrandt Van Cleve - - - m. Janetje Aertse Van der Bilt; bpt. in New Utrecht, 9/16/1682. She was the dau. of Aert Vanderbuilt, who was a captain of infantry in 1700 and who m. Hildegrad Remson."

Note: Ancestry broke this file up into families. The problem with this is that it doesn't give the actual volume information so the source is incomplete.
Its a biography of the Hardenbergh family. There are no sources, and it cites misinformation about the family including a fake "origin" in Rochelle, France.
