The borough of Northampton: Introduction https://www.british-history.ac.uk/vch/northants/vol3/pp1-26 "The manor descended to Margaret Paynell, wife of Thomas Kennisman, whose daughter Elizabeth married John Turpin, who died in 1493, when 13s. 4d. was still payable as burgage rent to the mayor and corporation of Northampton. From her the manor descended to George Turpin, who in 1558 sold the manor to Robert Harrison for £420, who in turn sold it to the mayor and corporation of Northampton on 20 April 1622." How is Robert selling Gobion's Manor 29 years after he died? If this is true his death date is after 1622 and this means Thomas was never lord of Gobion's Manor.
