He was an English nobleman and a military leader during the Hundred Yea r s ' W a r . He was one of the commanders at the great English victories at C r e c y a n d Poiters. He is responsible f o r t h e r e building of the Collegiate Church of Saint Mary,in Warwick], w h i c h w a s funded from the ransom of a French Archbishop.
