Name John Cutler [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8] Residence 1663 Middlesex, Massachusetts Bay Colony, British Colonial America
Birth 19 Mar 1663 Middlesex, Massachusetts, United States
[1, 3, 4] Gender Male LifeSketch John Cutler was born at Lexington March 19, 1663. He married, January 1, 1694, Mary, daughter of Isaac and Sarah (Beers) Stearns, who was born October 8, 1663. She was a grand-daughter of Capt. Richard Beers, who was killed by the Indians at Northfield, Mass., September 4, 1675. His ministerial tax, in 1692-3, was 10s. 6d. He owned the covenant* November 1, 1702, when four of his children were baptized. In 1700, a seat was assigned in \"ye front gallereye\" of the meeting house. He resided on what is now Weston street, over the brook on the southerly side of the old Concord turnpike. He died September 31, 1714. His brother Thomas, with widow Mary, administered on his estate. She died February 24, 1733. *By \"owning the covenant,\" adult persons, not members of the church, secured for themselves or their children the privilege of Christian baptism. This half-way covenant, as it was called, implies the discharge of specific religious duties and secured a respectable standing in the community. p24 Cutler, Nathan S. in A Cutler Memorial and Genealogical History 1889 FSID MMSK-WGL [9] Burial Sep 1714 Death 21 Sep 1714 Middlesex, Massachusetts, United States
