Notes
Catharyna was known locally as "Madame Brett". A tablet was placed inside the church as a memorial for her as she is buried beneath the pulpit of the First Reformed Dutch Church of Fishkill. The sanctuary was enlarged between 1785 and 1795 when it encroached on the Brett family lot. The markers were moved, but not the interees. Her father is Francis Rombout. Her husband, Lieutenant Roger Brett, R. N., did not survive her.
