- Samuel Allen was born in England, probably in Co. Somerset, or Dorset, or Devon before 1612 and died at Braintree August 5,1669.
He was a first settler in Boston, Massachusetts in 1628. He resided in Duxbury, Massachusetts before moving to Braintree where he was made a freeman 6 May 1635. Once in Braintree records he was called Mr. Allen, a title reserved for the upper class.
